At Heartsong, We noticed a need to match our Deaf communities requests with not only interpreters of quality but also interpreters that represent the community they are being requested to serve. The Deaf community is made of people from all kinds of backgrounds and ethnicities.
Recently there has been a movement to bring more interpreters of color into position so that the community feels equality represented and the Deaf consumers see themselves in their interpreters.
