Hey Y’all!
So Blogging. “Why not” I said and so, here I am 🙂
Today I want to talk about my experience in Houston. I was so excited to attend a week long intensive performance interpreting workshop. The workshop was offered by Amber G Productions and was taught by some of the amazing performance interpreters of the time. As a class we were individually challenged to break down and remake (in ASL) a song. Please understand that although I have been working for 10 years, I DO NOT believe that I will ever know everything, nor will I ever stop learning. The process was painful, frustrating, enlightening and promising. The entire class of 10 people made music videos based on the songs they worked on all week. Some of them were actually pretty Awesome! Entertainment/performance interpreting is a long and arduous process. We do it not for money or status, (for me) but rather for the love of the music and the goal of providing equal access to the healing magic of live music and theater.
